Friend-to-Friend Letters

This Great Idea was created by ‘a group of parents supporting impacted families in our Minneapolis public schools’ and was shared by Rev. Kristin Foster from rural MN – a Great Idea for non-targeted kids and communities looking for ways to support neighbors living in fear and behind closed doors.

This is a one-time letter writing campaign – but could inspire numerous spin-offs.

The flier reads,

‘Our children, their classmates, and friends in Minneapolis are scared. We have many friends who are staying home, attending school online because it isn’t safe for them or their families to leave their homes.

Help us share a word of encouragement. It could be a letter, a drawing or even a postcard saying ‘hi’. We will deliver it to our schools and through our mutual aid delivery system to our Minneapolis kids. This is a one-time letter writing campaign through Friday, February 13.’

You know who else could use some love and support? Clergy, leaders, and whole congregations who are working every day to provide mutual aid and shift our collective narrative from hate and fear to love and interconnectedness. If you’d like help in connecting with one of these leaders or congregations, let me know – or do a social media search; you’ll find them!
