Thanks to Building Faith and Rev. Keith Anderson for this Great Idea of a drive-thru Nativity visit.

Rev. Anderson’s article includes an outline of the scenes used by Anderson’s congregation last year, tips for developing each station including technological and accessibility concerns, and a full script for this Christmas Eve service – which includes Holy Communion available either as an outdoor, in-person or an at-home celebration – including pre-recorded music from the area college choir.

See the full article and script here.

Adaptations for your context should be pretty simple: invite folx to be creative in building the scenes and characters, offer “live” scenes if you’ve got the people (and weather permits), include an outdoor choir, if Covid permits, add music digitally if you’ve got the gear, etc.

A fairly simple yet lovely Christmas Eve celebration!
