Animal Assisted Interactions
It’s been a minute since I received this Great Idea. I regret not remembering who shared it with me. If it was you, please let me know and I’ll update this post immediately!
Proper credit notwithstanding, this is a super idea for any time of year, but feels especially appropriate for this Eastertide:
Invite Bunny Besties in for a bunny-based play date with all ages. Bunny Besties participate in everything from day cares and schools to senior care centers and community hospice – so they know how to interact with any age group and a wide range of mental health concerns.
Let all your people, from across the age-spectrum, enjoy a beautiful time with snuggly bunnies, which are trained (as are the people who accompany them) in ‘Animal Assisted Interactions‘ (AAI), that is, ‘activities that use animals to improve human health and well-being’.
Lots of folx in our communities could use this special de-stressing and anti-anxiety event, for all sorts of reasons.
Talking about emotional well-being might be a great focus this Lent, as well. Let this be a culminating, celebratory tie-in sometime in the Easter Season, if not Easter Morning.
