Climate Connections for Youth

‘Youth N’ Power supports the organizing power of young people across the state who are interested in environmental justice, international human rights, and indigenous rights.
The youngest generations are the people who will be most impacted by the realities of climate disruption – they are also our movement’s greatest asset. Youth N’ Power recognizes the power that already exists wherever young people are organizing around the state and helps connect them to local, state, national, and international environmental justice issues.’
In their recent newsletter, MNIPL invites youth leaders to:
‘Connect Youth Interested in Climate Action with the Youth N’ Power Network
The Youth N’ Power Network brings together young people with a passion for climate justice and working within their own neighborhoods and communities to take action on pressing environmental and climate issues. Through leadership development, training, connection, and support, they are developing the next generation of youth leaders in the climate space.
If you know any 16- to 26-year-olds who are interested in climate and environmental justice or are one yourself, please fill out this form to get involved!’
This is a great way to connect with youth with a particular passion for climate justice, organizing, and community engagement.
Your congregation might offer to support interested youth with:
- additional mentors (you know you’ve got adults interested in these issues, as well!)
- See last week’s TAP Retirees for Creation Care! Great Idea
- project venues (host sites can be hard to find!);
- and community outreach support (get the whole youth group, or better yet, the whole congregation involved!).
Let your young adults and youth know you’ve seen and heard their concerns about creation – and empower them to be leaders in broader congregational and community efforts toward justice!
