Holy Week Supplemental – The Resurrection Road
Beloved Faith Leaders:
The week ahead is an enormous one for us as Christians, particularly for us as Christians in America in 2026.
To support you in all the emotional and theological complexities, the spiritual and liturgical dexterities (!), and the possibility of resurrection, somewhere just down the road, here are a few tidbits:
ONE
I hope everyone plans on being in the streets this weekend – at least once, if not twice!
Need inspiration:
- Listen! MPR’s Angela Davis interviewed several Minnesota clergy with dozens more in the audience for North Star Journey Live: For Such a Time as This: Faith Leaders Respond to the Federal Immigration Surge.
- It will air on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 – 9:00 AM CT.
Find a No Kings Rally near you. It’s going to be huge.
- There’s a rumor Bruce Springsteen will be in the Twin Cities!
- There’s a confirmed opportunity to discern ‘What’s Next’ on Tuesday, March 31. Learn more here.
TWO

THREE
It’s Holy Week.
A little bird told me that some of us aren’t quite ready.
That’s okay. We’ve got your Triduum prepped and ready.
Find full worship outlines – or glean inspiration for your own – in our From Ash to Action: Even the Stones Cry Out Toolkit.
Triduum resources include:
- Maundy Thursday full worship outline
- liturgical elements
- song suggestions
- sermon prompt
- Foot Washing suggestions
- Holy Communion suggestions
- Stripping of the Altar prompt
- Two Good Friday Stations of the Cross options
- An ELCA-based (but really ecumenical!) guide through the Easter Vigil
FOUR
Our From Fear to Fire: God’s People Rise Up (the link will be live early next week!) Easter Season Toolkit is in the final stages of prep.
It’ll contain intergenerational resources that lift up our call to Creation Care through:
- Guides for Building a Moral Economy (adults) and parallel reading of The Marrow Thieves (youth) – for intergenerational discussion
- Weekly themed children’s books
- Spiritual and somatic practice outlines consistent with weekly themes
- These will be shared during Midweek Retreat (Wednesdays, 1:30 PM CT) throughout Easter – experience the guided practice yourself, then lead it that same night!
- Sermon reflections from the Green Blades Preaching Roundtable – a collective of preachers from across Minnesota and the region.
- A full sermon for April 19, 2026 – the day after the EcoFaith Summit of the Upper Midwest – based on the Emmaus Road text and igniting community for a planet in peril.
FIVE
Midweek Retreat will continue through the Easter Season.
As mentioned above, join the practice for your own spiritual well-being, then share the practice with your congregation in small groups, Wednesday gatherings, etc. A pdf will be available in the Fear to Fire toolkit each week.
SIX
Join us in Duluth for 2026 EcoFaith Summit: From Fear to Fire: Igniting Community for a Planet in Peril.
We gather April 18, 2026 at First Lutheran Church in Duluth.
Youth and young adults are co-leaders and integrated into the entire event – including a youth lock-in and a YA lock-in (two locations) the night before. Programming for children is provided on Saturday.
This all-ages gathering inspires, equips, and empowers congregations of all sizes and in all contexts to participate in the growing network of climate care providers across the Upper Midwest.
